In an candid conversation with SpotboyE.com, Suniel Shetty spoke at length about his forthcoming release Darbar that stars Rajinikanth in lead, the controversy around his daughter Athiya Shetty's film Motichoor Chaknachoor, his contemporaries, the JNU attack and lots more
Suniel Shetty has a certain charm about him that’s hard to ignore. When I sat down for an interview with the man, his witty answers bowled me over. The candidness with which he spoke about a lot of topics was enough to prove that this is an actor who’s not afraid to speak his mind and who doesn’t hold back his words.
From speaking about the changing dynamics of films in general, his turn as an antagonist in Darbar to the JNU attack, Suniel had a lot to discuss. Can’t call it a formal interview, but a long, well churned-out discussion. WATCH THE VIDEO BELOW:
Suniel Shetty plays the antagonist Hariharan Chopra in the Tamil film, Darbar and he feels honoured to be pitted against the South supremo, Rajinikanth. He has just the best words to describe the Thalaivva as he says, “Rajini Sir is a very simple man, soft-spoken in his demeanour. But the minute he wears his makeup, the amount of energy he puts in is totally different.”
Then, he went about describing his first meeting with the man. Naturally, we were quite excited to see Suniel play a negative role and reminded him how much we loved his negative portrayal in Main Hoon Na. The actor stated that he was offered numerous roles in that area but he didn’t just want to take up something for the heck of it.
Apart from discussing the film and his choice of roles, the actor was all praises for his contemporaries Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgn, who he feels are pretty smart with their choice of films. Next, he even spoke about the huge controversy that erupted over his daughter Athiya Shetty’s film Motichoor Chaknachoor and how it eventually turned out to be a disaster at the box-office.
Amidst all these topics, the actor also gave his honest opinion on the disturbing attack that happened at the JNU recently.
